Photo of the Week: Moffitt Band The ReMissions Opens for Chicago

Moffitt Cancer Center’s house band, The ReMissions, had the opportunity to open on stage for Grammy Award winning band Chicago at the Hooters 40th Anniversary concert on Saturday, Oct. 7. The band, which is led by Moffitt President and CEO Dr. Patrick Hwu, is comprised entirely of Moffitt team members. The band’s setlist included several covers like Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin,’” as well as original music written by lead vocalist Dr. Dana Ataya, a breast radiologist. Ataya shared an important message with the more than 9,000 in attendance at the concert, “Schedule your screening mammogram, because screening saves lives.” 

The show took place at The Sound in Clearwater’s Coachman Park, with proceeds benefiting Moffitt Cancer Center and Morton Plant Hospital. Members of Moffitt’s leadership team received a check for $825,000 to fund breast cancer research at the cancer center, thanks to the support of Hooters and co-founder and Moffitt board member Ed Droste.
