Hello everyone,

Nice to “tweet” you! The Internet plays such a key role in the exchange of information and ideas, so what better way to connect with you all and show you how Moffitt Cancer Center is revolutionizing cancer care.

While my daughters have easily mastered the art of social media, it took me a little longer. But now that I am more than 100 days into my new position as President and CEO of Moffitt, I feel like it’s the perfect opportunity to join the Twittersphere.

I can’t wait to use this platform to share developments in cancer research, exciting interactions I have had at Moffitt and in the community and our ambitious plans for the future. Also keep a look out for some selfies!

So far in my short time here, I have toured some of our inpatient floors, clinics, infusion centers and labs across our multiple campuses. I also put on my hard hat and explored the site of our Moffitt Expansion Hospital. Even just looking at the bones of the new buildings, I can already see the impact we will have on patient care with the dozens of new operating rooms and 128 additional inpatient beds.

Our COVID-19 vaccination clinics for staff and patients are also in full swing, and I am so proud Moffitt is one of the first to launch a study to determine the efficacy of the vaccine in cancer patients undergoing treatment. I truly believe we are on track to decrease the impact of this novel virus on our everyday lives.

Everything I learn about Moffitt makes me even more excited for our future. If we are going to reduce the cancer burden in Florida and throughout the globe, we need to be bold. This includes continuing progress on new treatments such as cellular immunotherapy, in which Moffitt is a leader. Together, we can make it happen.
