Moffitt Cancer Center’s mission is to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer, and with that comes a commitment to education. The cancer center is training the next generation of cancer research and oncology professionals, welcoming more trainees annually than any other institution in Florida.

Each year, Moffitt’s Graduate Medical Education and Research Education & Training departments organize a large educational event, the Scientific Symposium. This event allows trainees to submit and present scientific abstracts similar to what is done at major industry conferences, such as the American Association for Cancer Research and American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meetings. It is experience that helps them hone their presentation and abstract writing skills.

This year’s Scientific Symposium featured 175 poster presentations, 15 featured poster discussions and 10 oral presentations.
